I wrote to Raphael, with whom I collaborated on art-writing in the 80s, about <a href=\"http:\/\/mckeegallery.com\/artists\/jeanne-silverthorne\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jeanne Silverthorne&#8217;s<\/a> show at David Mckee Gallery and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gvdgallery.com\/artists\/julia-kunin\/\" target=\"_blank\">Julia Kunin&#8217;s<\/a> show at Greenberg Van Doren Gallery.<\/p>\n<p>I began by saying, &#8220;I am addressing this letter to you in honor of the art criticism we wrote together in the 1980s, trading paper manuscripts back and forth with revisions long before the \u201cconvenience\u201d of sending texts through the digital ether.
